COMPANY

The company was founded in 1876 by its namesake August Pohli as a bottle trade in Wuppertal. After various inner-city expansion steps, the administration and warehouse were merged in the Nächstebreck industrial area in 1991. The company premises now cover approximately 42,000 m². Around 40,000 pallets can be stored in a storage area of approx. 19,000 m². In 1999, sales activities in southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland were strengthened by establishing a sales office in Bad Urach, near Stuttgart. Over time, this area was expanded to include Eastern European countries

WE ARE

In addition to our large range of standard items, Pohli is constantly expanding its range to meet the ever-increasing demand for alternative and sustainable materials.

Even though glass is a very sustainable material anyway, we now stock items that are made from 100% recycled glass. We also offer a large number of closures made from alternative materials such as: Braskem®, molding compound (urea) or tinplate are made. If there is a need for the necessary sealing inserts, these can also be made of cardboard or unglued upon request.

Products with wood components are also very popular, such as screw caps with wooden outer parts, pipettes with wooden collars or entire plug-in caps made of wood. However, packs can also be produced from alternative materials such as recycled PET, recycled polypropylene, recyclate or Braskem®.

MATERIAL INFORMATION

Pohli shines with transparent material information. Each product contains clear lists of all substances used for comprehensive information. In accordance with our DIN ISO certification, the industry-relevant documentation and specifications for all products are available to our customers in digital form.

CERTIFICATES AND STANDARDS

Pohli runs a sustainable production process according to the highest standards. We use efficient methods and high-quality raw materials.

Our environmental management is based on partnership and strives for sustainability. We meet certified standards and support local jobs and source complementary products from Europe. Our environmental commitment is firmly anchored.

RECYCLING

Pohli relies on excellent recycling to meet the increasing demand for sustainable materials. We offer products made from 100% recycled glass and cans, bottles and closures made from alternative materials such as Braskem®, urea and tinplate. On request, we also produce packaging made from partially or 100% recycled PET, polypropylene from PIR materials and Braskem®.

PRODUCTION PROCESS

Pohli maintains a sustainable production process using modern, efficient methods and high-quality raw materials from well-known manufacturers. We continually analyze our processes to save resources and costs.

Our environmental management is based on partnership and aims at sustainability. We also support jobs and source complementary products from surrounding Europe to fulfill our ecological responsibility.

CO2 FOOTPRINT

Pohli scores with an excellent CO2 footprint because we consistently use sustainable materials. Our products are partly made of bio-plastics, which are made from renewable raw materials, allowing plants to absorb CO2 and help reduce the greenhouse effect.

The use of bioplastics is a response to finite petroleum reserves and we offer a large part of our range in alternative bioplastic variants, some of which are biodegradable.

SUPPLY CHAINS

Pohli maintains sustainable supply chains by delivering directly to the customer, at your request, without detours. Efficient deliveries reduce emissions and resource consumption.

With our own fleet and truck trains that comply with the latest emissions standards, we demonstrate our commitment to environmental protection
